Research Stay at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya

PhD student Benjamin Moreno, member of Project Shore, is currently conducting research at the CITCEA research centre within the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. The objective of this internship is the design of a control system for a multi-port converter.

This system is being developed to implement Cold Ironing infrastructure in Chilean ports. Benjamin Moreno’s work involves regulating internal power flows within the converter to manage the interconnection of the following elements:

– The local port electrical grid.
– Vessel power systems.
– Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
